Our AC died on the hottest Saturday of the year with a newborn in the house. ClimaCore had a technician here in under three hours, found a failed capacitor, and had us cold again for the price quoted on the phone.
About ClimaCore
A family-owned heating and cooling company built around one idea: the homeowner should understand the problem as well as the technician does before any money changes hands.
Started in a garage, still answering the phone ourselves
ClimaCore opened in 2009 with one van, one licensed technician and a simple frustration: too many homeowners were being handed a price with no explanation attached. We started out doing furnace and air conditioning repairs around Northgate on evenings and weekends, and word travelled because we showed people the reading on the meter instead of just naming a number.
Today the team runs a fleet of stocked service vans across eighteen communities, and the standard has not moved. Every technician on the payroll is licensed, background checked and insured. Every one of them is paid the same whether you approve a repair or decline it, which is the only structure under which "we recommend replacing it" means anything.
We install high-efficiency furnaces, air conditioners and cold-climate heat pumps, and we size them with a Manual J load calculation rather than matching whatever was there before. We pull the permits, schedule the municipal inspection, and file the rebate paperwork with you. When the job is done the invoice matches the quote, and the crew leaves the mechanical room cleaner than they found it.
Licensed, insured and accountable
Ask any contractor for these four things before you let them touch a gas appliance. We will send ours before you ask.
-
State HVAC contractor licence OH HVAC Contractor License #47-201884. Current, in good standing, and printed on every invoice.
-
General liability and workers compensation Full coverage on every technician. We will send a certificate of insurance on request, same day.
-
EPA Section 608 certified technicians Required for anyone handling refrigerant. Ours also hold NATE certification in air conditioning and gas heating.
-
Permits and inspections included We pull the permit and book the municipal inspection on every equipment replacement. It is never an optional extra.
The 12-month, come-back-free guarantee
If a repair we performed fails within twelve months, we return and make it right at no charge for labour or the part we installed. If we recommended a repair and the system fails anyway for the same reason, the cost of that repair comes off the price of the replacement. We would rather absorb an occasional callback than have you wonder whether the diagnosis was honest.
Reviews from around the service area
They were the third company to look at our furnace and the first to actually measure anything. It turned out to be a cracked heat exchanger. They showed me the camera footage instead of just telling me, and never pushed the biggest system on the list.
The heat pump install came in under two other bids and they handled the utility rebate paperwork for me. The crew put down floor protection, hauled the old unit away, and the tech called a week later to check the settings.
I signed up for the maintenance plan two years ago. Both tune-ups happen without me chasing anyone, and when the blower motor went out last winter the member discount and waived overtime saved me real money.
Upstairs was always eight degrees warmer than downstairs. They tested the duct leakage, sealed the returns, and added a damper instead of selling me a second system. The whole house is even now.
Straightforward, on time, and the invoice matched the quote to the dollar. That is rarer than it should be. They are the only company I call now.
